I am about to launch my Body-Life cards on my Suzy Prudden site and I thought I’d talk about them. Years ago, when I was still energizing at Carolyn Myss Conferences, my sister Joan and I created a book and card combination called “The Body-Life Connection,” based on my work with Louise L. Hay. They’re like Tarot Cards except that the medium is the body and it’s connection to life issues. It was the part of our MetaFitness book that Oprah liked so much.
Sometimes having ideas is a lot easier than making them happen. The cards were easy to write – we had a lot of experience in that area – Louise L. Hay had blazed the trail that we were taking to a new application. The book wasn’t difficult we created a lot of affirmations to deal with the issues, BUT getting the cards laminated was outrageously difficult.
We took 50-60 cards on sheets of paper to Kinkos. If I remember correctly there were 8 cards on a sheet and the Xeroxing had to be done on both sides before they could be laminated….We wanted 20 sets of cards. I was leaving for a Carolyn Myss Conference in Seattle at 7:00 the next morning. At 1:00 in the morning the Kinkos Night Manager brought me 50-60 times 20 sets of cards (I think there’s a square root in there somewhere) spread out in a quarter-inch thick, six-foot long, three-foot high roll of plastic that I was supposed to magically cut apart with a pair of scissors before I left the next morning. The cards hadn’t even been laminated beside each other so that one cut would separate two cards. Needless to say it didn’t work. It’s one of those wonderful moments that you revisit with a sibling….”Remember when they laminated those cards at Kinkos?” . . . more to follow . . .
