Something you need to know

Hear Suzy interview Thomas Smith Again on December 2nd 2008

Thomas Smith whose website is www.healingmatters.com graced our teleseminar two weeks ago and told our audience, among other things, that MSG was a major contributor to the development of Type II Diabetes. The body has three times the response to MSG that is has to sugar – so beware. In addition, MSG is hidden in processed foods. It doesn’t actually say what it is and it has dozens of names, so the best idea is DO NOT EAT ANY PROCESSED FOOD.

Thomas’ book can be purchased by sending $29.00 to

The food industry immediately got the message when people started buying organic instead of their products. Of course that’s not without problems because the food industry is wedded to unhealthy practices. The only way to send a message to the food industry that their foods are not acceptable is not to buy them. Unfortunately that includes even fresh fruits and vegetables in supermarkets. Even fresh fruits and vegetables from places like China might be grown organic today but the heavy metals are in their soil because of the terrible air and water pollution in China so it’s still getting into your food. Same with California lettuce that contains Rocket Fuel.

The very best favor you can do yourself is to eat seasonally and buy locally. If you’re buying asparagus in November (which will grow in spring in your area) that asparagus has had to travel a long distance from the southern hemisphere to get to your table. Travel means time (which means a deterioration of both vitamins and enzymes) and it means fuel since the asparagus didn’t walk here.

If you buy the vegetables that are locally grown at your farmer’s markets…that means less fuel, shorter time between picking and your table, and it supports the local growers – which means they’ll keep their farm land as working farms rather than selling it off to developers for more urban and suburban splat.

Vegetables that are not marked “Organic” in the grocery store have a good chance of having been irradiated – which means vitamins and minerals are gone. If a process is strong enough to kill a bug, it’s strong enough to kill vitamins and minerals.

I hope you’ll join us on our Tuesday night Teleseminar. To sign up go to www.SuzyPrudden.com.
